Judgement - Who are we to judge?
Everyone at some point gets judged. I have been judged for being gay, registered disabled and for being Catholic.
How many times per day do you judge someone?
Did you include judging yourself?
Some people will never make it past the 5 minute mark.
I am no saint but I really try not to judge especially as plenty of people have judged me since I started secondary school.
Judgment and Discernment come often as a pair. Discernment means perceiving the way things are and Judgment is what we add to discernment when we make a comparison (implicit or explicit) between how things or people are and how we think they ought to be.
Judgment, has an element of dissatisfaction with the way things are and a desire to have things be the way we want them to be.
Since, I had the line fitted, I cannot even begin to count the number of people in a day stare at me and I hear them talking about what it is. Strangers in the street, if you’re like me, there’s almost always a subtle judgment waiting in the wings.
Judgement to me is basically an element of dissatisfaction with the way things are and a desire to have things be the way I want them to be - the state of someone's shoes.
My wife doesn't judge, she actually isn't interested in other people. When I judge someone, without meaning to, the judging them did nothing to ease their suffering, and it certainly didn’t ease mine. Judging is such a well-ingrained response that I hardly notice when I’m doing it, so I know I have a lifetime of conditioning to overcome. One day, I truly hope I can shed this heavy burden of judging.
